I am a beach bum, book worm, newlywed, momma to two furbabies, lover of pretty things, who strives to find happiness in all that I do.
After seven years as a hobby photographer, I decided it was finally time to take the leap, open a business, and see what would happen. Portraits by Anna was incorporated in 2013.
I believe in treasuring the moment and my goal is to help others to do just that by capturing their moments and their memories in images that can be cherished for a lifetime.
I grew up in a small town in Northern Pennsylvania. It was the kind of place where everyone knew everyone else’s business and the whole town showed up for Friday night football games. Every kid should grow up in a town like that – there’s just something about the charm of it.
For college, I packed up more than I would ever hope to fit on my side of a Freshman dorm room and headed off to Penn State to study Architecture. Plans changed, and so did my major, and I ended up graduating with a degree in Communications. Before I gave up the drafting board I learned some valuable lessons in graphic design, visual communications, and the infamous all-nighter.
After a brief stint as an Event Planner in NoVa, I somehow ended up here in Hampton Roads – thanks to a certain sister’s couch – and its likely I’m here to stay. My surfer-boy husband wouldn’t let me drag him away from the beach, even if I wanted to.
